It’s no secret that what you feed your pet matters, as proper nutrition is one of the biggest contributors to your pet’s longevity and quality of life. It’s easy to assume that dogs can “make do” with whatever fills their bellies but, just like humans, they need a wholesome diet to fuel their bodies and keep them lean and healthy. March is National Nutrition Month so, naturally, we wanted to touch base about just that.
According to the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), pet food must provide four things: energy, protein, fats/fatty acids, and vitamins and minerals. While most pet foods gladly meet these standards, where many of them go astray is the quality of ingredients they’re using to provide such things. Ground corn, for example, is an acceptable carbohydrate for providing energy but it’s a filler ingredient rather than the satiating fuel their active bodies need.
All of our food is formulated to meet AAFCO’s standards, but where we exceed expectations isn’t just our quality ingredients, but that they’re processed in USDA-inspected facility. Our single-source protein sources range from Salmon to Beef to Lamb and we even take the extra step of adding salmon oil to provide beneficial Omega fatty acids.
As a pet owner, knowledge is power! If Raw Naturals isn’t what you’re looking for then do your pet a favor by taking the time to read labels and research brands to ensure your they’re getting the top-notch nutrition they deserve.
