It’s National Ice Cream Month!

small dog breeds Jack Russell Terrier eats ice cream

Summer is in full swing and we couldn’t be more excited. From morning walks to afternoon swims and relaxing in perfect evening temperatures, we are definitely ceasing summer while we can. To top it all off, July is National Ice Cream Month and you know we’re taking this one to the dogs! As daytime temperatures rise, it’s our responsibility as pet parents to keep our animals comfortable; beyond providing ample shade and fresh water when our dogs are outdoors, we always enjoy spoiling our furry bests with some easy frozen treats. To accommodate every pooch’s preferences, here are a couple cool recipes to try.

Greek Pumpkin Yummies

1 tub of Greek Yogurt (32oz.)

2-3 tablespoons of peanut butter (preferably no sugar added)

1-2 tablespoons of pure organic pumpkin (no pie filling!)

Mix ingredients well, pour into desired vessel (we recommend silicone cupcake molds or small yogurt cups), and freeze. Creamy, easy and delish!

Ridiculously Easy Banana Nice Cream

2-3 ripened bananas, frozen overnight

Optional: 1 tablespoon peanut butter

Blend frozen bananas and serve. Seriously, that’s it. Of course you can always divide and re-freeze for later.

Creamy Apple Honey

12 oz. plain, non-fat yogurt

2 tbsp peanut butter

2 tbsp honey

1/3 cup all-natural applesauce

Mix ingredients in a bowl. Pour and freeze.
